Lemon Rice

Vegetable oil in big pot
shallow fry
1/2 spoon mustard seeds (rai)
add one spoon each of two kinds of dry lentils (dal):
chickpea (channa) and black (urad)
10-15 curry leaves

cook 1 cup rice seperately

add to big pot
2 onions long chopped
4 tomatoes roughly chopped
sprinkle turmeric
sprinkle salt

simmer for 5 mins low heat
mash to paste (optional)
add cooked rice to masala
mix
garnish with coriander (dhaniya)

Tesco's Finest Brie*, Onion and Tomato Tart

shortcrust pastry

Line tins


Blind bake till some colour

2 onions

Caramelise on med flame

Oregano
Pepper
Garlic
Salt
Butter

Cook till slightly brown

Line bottom of tarts with tesco's finest brie*


Cover with caramelised onions

Top with sliced tomatoes

Bake till bubbling

Spaghetti Carbonara

boil spaghetti
toss with olive oil and set aside

pan oil
any meat (best- bacon, cheapest- chicken roll)
cook till crispy
remove

use oil from meat
ginger garlic paste 
1 onion diced
oregano
garlic salt
add any wine
let reduce

add back meat
toss in spaghetti
3 eggs
keep rotating so eggs just cooked and cover everything
optional 1/4 cup any cheese (best- parmesan, cheapest- cream cheese)
salt and pepper to taste

Cinnamon Rolls (with Caramel Sauce)

1/2 cup warm water
1 tbs sugar
1 packet yeast

let stand

3 cups flour
pinch salt
1/2 cup scalded milk
1/3 cup fat spread
1 egg

knead

add yeast mix

knead

let rise until double 

roll into rectangle

1/4 cup fat spread
sugar
cinnamon

sprinkle over rectangle

cut into strips and roll

spread butter and sprinkle pan with sugar

let rise again

bake till golden

New York Cheesecake

flour
cereal
sugar
butter

mix to make a base that sticks together and tastes nice but not too sweet

pre bake

500g (approx 3 packets) cream cheese
1 1/2 cup sugar

mix

1/2 cup milk

add 4 eggs one at a time

1 cup cream with vinegar (or sour cream)
1 tbs vanilla essence
1/4 cup flour

mix

pour onto crust

bake till golden top and almost clean knife

detach sides and let cool in oven overnight (prevents cracks)

fridge next day
